Hold onto your hats, folks! It's April 1st, but no pranks here—just my usual brand of silliness from the past two weeks in my journal-esque newsletter.
Bright Bounty: To celebrate my birthday on March 17th, a group of my closest friends accepted my invitation for a 10 AM hike (well, more of a scenic 40-minute walk, but let's call it a hike for fun!). After this walk, we all had brunch before relaxing by the heated pool as we chatted and laughed. I had organized these three activities to avoid the usual evening celebration involving cake and drinks, but my friends surprised me with a cake for dinner nonetheless.
Creative Muse: Despite its modest budget and small cast, the movie "The Holdovers,” with stellar acting, a compelling screenplay, and excellent direction, is simply amazing. The 2.1 sound system gifted to me by my friends on my birthday further enhanced the movie-watching experience.
People & Places: From attending the gender reveal celebration and games organized by Aadesh and Riya for their didi-bhinaju's second child (who, as her mom hoped for, happens to be a daughter!) to the housewarming party at Nikesh dai and Jeebika di's new house, the past two weeks have offered an abundance of enjoyment and opportunities to catch up with friends.
I played for Blue Moon Dallas, the official Manchester City fan group in Dallas, in the Supporters Club Champions League. We managed to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament. Additionally, witnessing friends from the Nepal-Dallas Cricket Club lift the DCL trophy was a fantastic experience. The celebration party was even better!
Quotable Keepsake: “The things you think about determine the quality of your mind.” Another quote from the book Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, every page of which is a gem.
Thank you for reading. I look forward to spamming you on April 16th!
